Meet James, Roaster at Padre Noosa.
Tell us about your journey to Padre.
After many years in corporate roles I felt the need for a change to something more tangible and hands on, so with an interest in coffee I moved back into hospitality and began to learn more about specialty. I had an eCommerce site which connected me to the crew at Padre, which later lead to the opportunity to roast coffee.
What's the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Definitely being able to work along with some of the best talent and best equipment in the business. Plus of course drinking lots of sensational coffee!

Favourite travel experience so far…
I've had a few. Hikes through the Pacific North West of the States definitely stand out for epic scenery and wildlife; while backpacking through Central America was stunning and confronting.
Ideal Sunday a.m to p.m…
Wake up early to one of the beautiful clear crisp blue-sky mornings we get here on the coast. Head out for pedal on the 'pushie; maybe fit in a moto ride too; walk the dogs on the beach and then some beers in the afternoon.
