Single Origin Coffee Description

We're thrilled to feature a single-producer lot from Nigist Girmachew, a young woman making a significant impact in Ethiopia’s coffee industry. Nigist recently joined the Jabanto Farmers Coffee Business Group and has begun exporting her own coffee, with their support.

Nigist is hard-working and passionate when it comes to running her farm. In 2022, she gained export documentation, marking a vital stride towards financial stability. Nigist plans to diversify her family's income by investing in a retail shop using proceeds from coffee farming in Dobi village.

Nigist’s dedication to her work, combined with the complex interactions among soil, rainfall distribution, temperature in the Yirgacheffe region have come together to create a truly special coffee. The natural processing technique of this particular lot has accentuated the flavors of berries, apricot, and black tea, culminating in a delightful finish reminiscent of caramel and nougat.

Traceable, single-farmer produced coffee from Ethiopia is something we’re seeing more of in recent times and we’re honoured to have Nigist’s coffee on our menu.
