Wacaco was founded in 2013 in Hong Kong, with the mission to create a small, lightweight and convenient handheld espresso machine. Founder Hugo Cailleton holds a Master’s degree in industrial design and was inspired by a lacklustre espresso served to him in a hotel while on a business trip. Many prototypes and alterations later, the Minipresso was born and from there, the Wacaco brand has grown into the globally renowned company it is today.
