To source this coffee, we worked with Upstream Imports who, like us, strive to do good through cultivated relationships and of course, coffee.
Their relationship with Hasambo Cooperative is through Communal Shamba (meaning ‘farms’ in Swahili language) who are one of many producers within the cooperative in the southern highlands of Tanzania.
Upstream have been working together with Communal Shamba to support farmers, assisting them in improving and maintaining specialty coffee production and ensuring fair pay and substantial premiums.
This is a coffee that Upstream have sourced for the last few years and based on their feedback, the Hasambo Cooperative has begun producing larger and more consistent lots - a win/win for all!
