A Tale of Two Coffees, featuring two limited-edition Brazilian coffees from standout producers — Fazenda do Cruzeiro and Fazenda Samambaia. Grown just 65km apart, these lots share varietal, elevation and processing, but deliver markedly different profiles in the cup. This set is an invitation to taste how individual farming philosophies shape flavour, even when the landscape looks the same on paper.

At Fazenda do Cruzeiro, Ivan Junqueira Ribeiro and his team manage a 1,021-hectare property with 381 hectares planted with coffee. Their microlot production focuses on meticulous hand-picking of ripe Yellow Catucaí cherries, followed by traditional patio drying to enhance sweetness and balance. Located in Brazil’s Campo das Vertentes region, the farm blends heritage and innovation — and this lot offers a profile bursting with peach, milk chocolate, rose, and orange.
Just down the road, Fazenda Samambaia tells a different story. The Cambraia family has been growing coffee here since 1896, and today, under Henrique Dias Cambraia’s leadership, the farm has earned multiple Cup of Excellence accolades. With 619 hectares under coffee and 51 full-time staff, Samambaia is a model of scale, sustainability and craft. Grown between two river basins, their Yellow Catucaí is known for its smooth, structured cup. Expect notes of chamomile, caramel, apple and peanut.
Together, these coffees highlight the role of thoughtful production — from harvest to drying — in shaping Brazil’s diverse and expressive flavour landscape.
