Here at Padre Coffee we value knowledge and education, and we foster this passion in all our teams. We have a lot of knowledge to share: from the strict quality control principles that guide our coffee sourcing, to our experienced perspective on roasting coffee and, importantly, our approachable attitude to brewing.
At Paddington, we offer workshops and courses to help you brew like a pro, whether at home or in a café setting.
Master the basics of espresso extraction and milk texturing in this foundational class, perfect for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills. Our Espresso 101 course covers the essentials of espresso brewing, ensuring our participants leave with a comprehensive understanding and practical skill for making specialty standard espresso-based drinks.
Our Espresso 101 Barista course runs for three hours and is very hands-on. Our classes are capped at 4 participants in order to maximise your time brewing coffee with a commercial machine and grinder, and access to an experienced trainer.
Get hands-on with popular brewing methods like Aeropress, Chemex, and V60. Our brewing workshops are designed for home brewers of all levels. Whether you're thinking to get into brewing coffee at home, or just keen to see what Padre workshops are about and learn a bit more about specialty coffee, this is a great place to start. Join us as our knowledgeable baristas explain and demonstrate the various brewing methods, and sample the results.
Our brewing workshops are always free, however, numbers will be capped at 10 to ensure there is enough coffee to go around. Be sure to secure your spot!
Join us while we showcase our latest single origin coffee offering! Cupping is a professional practice used by roasters, traders and coffee producers, but it's something anyone who enjoys coffee can do - this includes absolute beginners all the way through to home baristas and industry professionals! Cupping is a great way to taste many different coffees side-by-side, and develop palate awareness.
Although this is a free event, numbers will be capped at 6 to ensure everyone has adequate time with each coffee. Be sure to secure your spot as we will be unable to allow walk-ins on the day.
