Cafe Partner Program FAQ

We certainly do supply coffee to customers both interstate and internationally.  We have roasteries and teams in Melbourne and Noosa meaning we have Victoria and Queensland covered. We supply to other states remotely but can still provide our full and comprehensive service (delivery, technical support & training) with the help of some travelling and our trusted third party partners. International supply can be a little more tricky, but we’re successfully supplying wholesale customers in Europe, North America and Asia. Get in touch and let’s see what we can achieve together!

We deal with each wholesale enquiry on a ‘case by case’ basis and we always have our existing customers’ best interests at heart. We wouldn’t supply two businesses right next door to each other but we have seen success with multiple operators on the same main street or geographical area.

We offer complimentary weekly delivery to each of our wholesale partners. Of course we do our best to accommodate emergency or off-schedule deliveries where we can.

Yes, we proudly remain a 100% specialty coffee company. This means each and every coffee we sell and serve is specialty grade, including every coffee in our blends. Our coffee offering is carefully curated by our Director of Coffee and certified Q-grader Fay Kamanis.

When you enter our Wholesale Partnership program, we expect a weekly order minimum of 15kg. However, we have a professional and experienced sales team to help you reach and exceed minimums and expectations. Your success is our success!

We’ve spent years building our brand and we’re well recognised and trusted in the industry. Our partners have found that aligning their brands with ours helps them leverage off our reputation for quality, great customer service and approachability. We also regularly celebrate our partners through our media platforms and support them with promotional items such as Padre Coffee branded A-frames and market umbrellas.

We offer much more than price per kilo. Depending on your individual needs, our offering can include training, equipment and servicing, marketing support and consultation on recruitment, bar set up, workflow and retailing. Call us to have chat and we can tailor an offering to suit you, your business and your clientele.

Naturally, the price of wholesale coffee is based on volume. We approach wholesale coffee holistically and our service offering is built into the price of our coffee. This includes our training program, preventative maintenance program for servicing machinery, consulting and delivery. If you loan machinery from us, this can also factor into your price per kilo. We value long term relationships and actively look for partners who are focussed on longevity and collaboration. Our aim is to reward our loyal customers.

How many coffees you can produce from 1kg of coffee beans depends on how you brew and serve your coffees! In our stores, we split shots for dine in coffees (6-7oz) and serve 8oz/12oz takeaway coffees as a double ristretto or double shot. We recommend you do the same. Using a basic dose of 21g means you can make between 48 (all takeaway) and 95 (all dine in) cups of coffee per kg.

Selling coffee can be profitable if you’re passionate and committed. We’re dedicated to helping our partners succeed and have a team of coffee professionals who love to share their knowledge.

We recommend allowing coffee to age for a week after roasting. This allows the coffee to degas, making it tastier and easier to work with. From this point, coffee stays at its peak for 2-4 weeks. From there, it will begin to lose flavour, but is still fine to brew for a long time. Proper stock rotation - which we can help you with - will ensure your coffee is consistently at its prime.

We always recommend our partners own their own equipment; better to invest in your own asset than ours. We have access to a vast range of equipment and can offer advice and competitive pricing to our wholesale partners. We can also offer equipment on loan but, depending on coffee volume, you may be required to contribute a weekly lease fee.

After over a decade of designing, building and running our own cafes, we’re well equipped to help you design your coffee bar. We can help you make the most of your work space, select the best equipment for your needs, consider your work flow and ergonomics and also improve your efficiencies.

Yes, we conduct a fully comprehensive technical service. We have partnered with Specialist Espresso, who service our partners’ equipment on a scheduled Preventative Maintenance Program. They are also equipped for 7-day-a-week emergency call outs.
