Wild Child's washed Honduras hails from Opalaca. Honduras has everything it needs to grow coffee - the right growing conditions, abundant fertile soils, high altitudes and a variety of microclimates. It’s a small, yet might producer in the coffee world.
Honduras Opalaca features Lempira, Catuai and Bourbon varietals. It is produced by a specific group of farmers who are part of the Beneficio Santa Rosa supply chain in West Honduras. Beneficio Santa Rose is a dry mill and exporter that services organised producer group and cooperatives, making sure that the coffee meets the international standards of moisture content, grade and cup quality.
The producers were selected based on the consistently high quality of their deliveries., as well as the organic nature of their coffee. Organic fertilisers and integrated pest management were utilised in their farming practices, which allows them to sell their coffee with added value above the commercial pricing level in Honduras.
The cup is smooth and sweet with notes of pear, honey, toffee and dark chocolate in the finish. Its creamy texture is an irresistible match for milk and makes for a delicious espresso coffee.
