We’re beyond excited to announce that you helped us raise $7533.54 through our latest Good Coffee Doing Good initiative, for producer Auricel Conde in Colombia! Together with our green coffee partners Cofinet, we’ll use these funds to help Auricel with the construction of a new fermentation tank at his farm La Primavera. In turn, this will help Auricel and other neighbouring farmers to produce higher quality coffees, thereby improving their livelihoods.

Recap

Good Coffee Doing Good is a project based fundraising initiative, which we launched last year. Along with raising funds to contribute to some special and meaningful projects, it’s been an impactful way to help us tell the stories of the inspiring producers we work with, and shine a spotlight on their special coffees.

For this edition of Good Coffee Doing Good, we were inspired to honour our late colleague Eli Galbally. Eli loved Colombia and the farmers he met there in 2017, so what better way to honour his memory than to give back to a place that meant so much to him.

We sourced two breathtaking coffees from producer Auricel Conde, through our Colombian green coffee partners Cofinet. Through sales of these coffees, we raised funds towards constructing a new fermentation tank for Auricel’s farm, La Primavera, donating $1 per 250g of coffee sold. We also donated $5 from every Good Coffee Doing Good tshirt sold in the period since the last initiative.

Improving these facilities will enable Auricel and other neighbouring farmers to produce better quality coffees, thereby increasing the payment they receive.

You can read more about Auricel and the genesis of the project here.

Acknowledgements

First and foremost, we would like to thank our customers who embraced these coffees wholeheartedly. Good Coffee Doing Good wouldn’t exist without people to support it, so thanks to each and every one of you who bought a bag of coffee or a t-shirt.

Thanks to our wholesale partners who purchased the coffee to brew or sell; special thanks to Altdrop and Sow Coffee Project who both matched our $1 donation per bag.

Thanks to our team in Noosa, who generously donated proceeds from their 5 year birthday party.

Huge thanks also to Entity Coffee and the Park Orchards Lions Club for their extremely generous direct donations.

Last but not least, we extend our love and thanks to Eli’s wonderful parents Tim and Sophy Galbally who also made a direct donation to the project. We were so proud to be able to honour your son in this way and we’re so thankful for knowing him and having him on our team.
