Good Coffee Doing Good is our long-running initiative that channels the power of coffee lovers into meaningful social and cultural impact. Through sales of our Golden Rule Espresso Blend, we donate $4 for each kilo sold across both retail and wholesale outlets to drive real change.

This year, our spotlight turned to Agency Projects, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander not-for-profit organisation partnering with First Nations communities to support cultural practice, Indigenous leadership, and meaningful economic participation.

Our latest partnership highlighted the important archiving work being done at Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association in Milikapiti on the Tiwi Islands. The project, called Wurrungura, meaning “moving forward,” is a multi-media knowledge centre and digital archive dedicated to safeguarding Tiwi cultural heritage through audiovisual documentation and distribution.

Since the launch of Wurrungura, the art centre has empowered its community through:

  • Recording songs, dances, stories, and ceremonial practices on Country;
  • Gathering and repatriating historical images of family and ceremony;
  • Digitising photographs, films, and audio-visual heritage;
  • Creating new multi-media artworks that celebrate Tiwi culture and language.

The digital archive offers much more than preservation. It grants community-controlled access to cultural materials, fosters intergenerational knowledge transfer, bolsters digital literacy, and supports local creative careers within the art centre.

It’s with pride and gratitude that we announce the total amount raised through this campaign: $26,811 donated to Agency Projects so they can continue to supporting projects like Wurrungura.

We extend our thanks to Agency Projects and Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association for generously sharing their stories and images with us, and to you—our passionate customers—for choosing products from our Good Coffee Doing Good collection.
